We were lucky enough to receive a review key for Gears of War 4, unfortunately it only arrived late afternoon yesterday, which only gave me a small window to play the game.
Here are some initial thoughts on the game, which will be followed up with a full review in the coming days.
I’m currently 3 hours into the campaign, it’s very much classic Gears of War, although it feels more fluid. Roadie runs feel quicker, allowing you to seamlessly vault over cover while running.
There are some great new weapons to experiment with as well as some great enemies to take on. Weather effects all come into play, adding a new dynamic to the gameplay.
I’m really enjoying the story so far, it will be interesting to see where it goes. Gears fans will settle in very quickly and hopefully they’ll enjoy this as much as any GOW title.
